Senior defender Brett Lux has committed to play soccer at Concordia University Irvine. The Friars captain said, "I chose Concordia because it is close to home and the campus and environment seem amazing." He continued, "I was specifically attracted to the soccer program because of how welcoming the coaches and players were and the competitive environment they have created."
Lux is a three-year varsity letterman for the Friars having won Trinity League Defensive MVP his junior season. This year he has played in all 22 games for Servite helping lead the Friars to their sixth consecutive Trinity League title. In total, he has scored six goals and tallied a team-high nine assists.
Coach Jon Spencer shared, "We are excited about Brett Lux's commitment to Concordia University. Brett has worked hard over the past four years to establish himself as a student-athlete who can excel both in the classroom and on the field. Brett has become a great leader within our soccer program leading by example. He has also overcome a lot of possible distractions to stay focused on his goals." He went on to say, "We are excited to see him continue to grow as a Faith-Filled Leader at Concordia and are confident he will have an impact on their soccer program. Congratulations Brett!"
Lux is the second Friar from the Class of 2019 to sign to play in college joining Chad Sinclair who is headed to Biola.
Lux would like to thank the people in his life who helped him get to where he is today saying, "I would like to thank my parents for the unconditional love and support. I couldn't have done it without them. I would also like to thank my coaches for their belief in me and for always pushing me to be the best I can be."
Servite would like to congratulate Brett on this great accomplishment and wish him the best of luck as he leads the Friars into playoff action.
