Eight Student-Athletes Recognized on Signing Day

Servite Athletics recognized eight student-athletes Wednesday during a National Signing Day ceremony held in the gym. Knolton Clark, Emanuel Dean, CJ Masciel, Abel Oropeza, Alec Rath and Max Snyder represented baseball while Brendan Gonzalez signed for golf and Jackson Williams for water polo.

Knolton Clark (Purdue): A 3-year varsity letterman for the Friars, Knolton Clark has started and pitched in relief for Servite Baseball.

Emanuel Dean (UCLA): A 3-year varsity letterman for Servite, Emanuel Dean was named a Perfect Game All-American this year and selected to play in the Area Code games and the Breakthrough Series for MLB draft prospects. His junior season he hit 4 home runs, 8 doubles and tallied 17 RBIs finishing amongst the team leaders in all three categories.

CJ Masciel (Cal Baptist University): A 3-year varsity letterman for Servite, CJ Masciel has played second and third for the Friars but will make the move to shortstop and anchor the Friars' infield for his senior campaign.

Abel Oropeza (Norwich): With a passion for baseball and the military, Abel Oropeza will pursue both at Norwich University next year.

Alec Rath (LMU): A 3-year varsity letterman for Servite, Alec Rath was a 2nd Team All-Trinity League selection in 2018 after holding opposing batters to a .339 ERA in 20.2 innings pitched while posting a 5-1 overall record with 4 saves. He will join fellow pitcher and baseball alum Sean Paquet '16 at LMU.

Max Snyder (Siena College): A 2-year varsity letterman for the Friars, Snyder is one of three pitchers to already sign to play in college and is expected to bring valuable senior leadership to the pitching rotation this season.

Brendan Gonzalez (LMU): A 4-year varsity letterman for the Friars, Brendan Gonzalez has helped lead Servite Golf to three Trinity League titles and two CIF Championships to date. He has also garnered multiple individual accolades including All-Trinity League and All-Orange County honors. Gonzalez will join fellow golf alum Kyle Kinnane '18 at LMU.

Water Polo-

Jackson Williams (Wagner College): A 2-year varsity letterman for Servite and starter this season, Jackson Williams helped lead the Friars Water Polo team to their first CIF-SS Championship title since 2005.
