Pierson O'Connell (Pole Valut) and Kyle Kimble (110m Hurdles) won Individual Trinity League titles at Friday's League Finals as O'Connell jumped 15' 3" to top the other competitors by over 2 feet while Kimble posted a 14.72 to edge out his teammate Christian Ojeda who came in 2nd at 14.99.
O'Connell and Kimble lead a talented group of Friars into next week's CIF Prelims including fellow hurdlers Ojeda (110 Hurdles) and Nathan Lacson (300 Hurdles) as well as pole vaulter Nolan Blachowski. Lucky Nelson (Discus), Vince Sarino (800) and Lincoln Duran (Long Jump) also posted qualifying times/distances finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively at League Finals. In addition to winning the 110 Hurdles, Kimble also advanced in the 300s coming in 3rd behind Lacson in 2nd.
CIF Prelims will be held at Estancia High School with the field events starting at 11am followed by the running events at noon.
