Senior Marc Trejo has signed with Vanguard University to play soccer at the next level.
A 4-year Varsity letterman for the Friars, Trejo was a member of the 2015 CIF Championship team as well as the last four Trinity League Championship teams. As a junior, he was named 2nd Team All-Trinity League.
This season, Trejo has patrolled the midfield for the Friars, controlling the pace of the game and helping out on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. To date, he has tallied three goals and seven assists for Servite with the Friars' first playoff contest to be played Wednesday vs. Warren.
Coach Jon Spencer shared, "We are proud of Marc Trejo and excited for him to play college soccer at Vanguard University. Marc has been one of the top central midfielders in CIF Southern Section and we hope he will continue to lead our midfield throughout the CIF Playoffs."
Coach Spencer continued, "He will make an immediate impact at Vanguard and help them to continue in their great tradition. Marc's commitment to excellence in the classroom and development on the field has been great to see. I look forward to seeing him continue in college as a student-athlete."
Trejo is the third member of the Class of 2018 to make a college commitment joining Corbin Mercado (LMU) and Jose Sosa (Pacific) and is the first Friar to play for the Lions since Curtis Cummins in 2006.
