SPOKANE, Wash. – Former Servite Gonzaga soccer player Conner Bevans recently signed a professional contract to play with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks Football Club of the United Soccer League, the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid.
Bevans was the Trinity League MVP his senior season before getting recruited to play with the Zags.
He played at Gonzaga from 2012-2015, and was All-WCC Second Team, All-WCC Honorable Mention twice, WCC Player of the Week, and he was selected to the WCC All-Freshman team in 2012. He was an outstanding student as well, being selected to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll twice.
"I am very excited to begin this new journey in Colorado and continue my soccer career as a pro," Bevans said. "Gonzaga was an incredible program to be a part of and will forever hold a special place in my heart. I can't thank Einar (Thorarinsson) and the coaching staff enough for pushing me to chase my dream."
The La Habra Heights, Calif. native scored 11 career goals for the Zags, had eight assists, and 30 total points. He played in 72 games and his 152 career shots rank sixth all-time on the Gonzaga career lists. Bevans also had five game-winning goals in his GU career.
The Switchbacks are currently participating in their 2017 preseason schedule and officially kick off the season on March 25 at the Tulsa Roughnecks FC.
