Friarbots VEX Robotics Team 9983B advances to Southern California VEX Robotics High School State Championship

At the regional VEX Robotics Competition at Reseda High School on November 8, 2014, Servite High School's Friarbots VEX Team 9983B was undefeated in qualifying rounds. The team selected El Camino Real Charter High School's team as alliance partner, and Servite's alliance won the final rounds against an alliance of Patriot Robotics from Viewpoint High School in Calabasas and the Robodox from Granada HillsCharter High School. Servite Team 9983B also won the Excellence Award, the highest award given at a VEX Robotics Competition, for a team that "is a shining example of dedication, devotion, hard work and teamwork." The team also won the Robot Skills Award and tied for the Programming Skills Award. The Friarbots Team 9983B will advance to the SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA VEX ROBOTICS HIGH SCHOOL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP February 12-14, 2015, at St. Francis High School in La Canada-Flintridge.

Friarbots Team 9983A also performed well at the competition and led the 8th-ranked alliance into the quarterfinals.
