FAQs
Is my donation to Servite tax-deductible?
Yes. Servite is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (Tax ID #: 95-2023055). When you make a contribution to an organization that has been designated as a 501(c)(3) by the IRS and you have not received anything in return for your gift, you are eligible for a deduction when you file your taxes. Consult your tax advisor for more details.
What is the Annual Fund?
The Servite Annual Fund is an ongoing, annual fundraising campaign that reaches each student in every classroom. Like most Catholic and independent schools, tuition does not cover the full cost of a Servite education. Servite Annual Fund contributions go directly into the operating budget to fund the everyday expenses of running the school.
What is the Endowment Fund?
Servite's Endowment Fund is an investment fund that grows its principal as it also generates interest and dividend income, thereby securing the school's long-term financial future. The principal of an endowment gift is preserved in perpetuity; only the interest income or earnings may be used to cover operating expenses. Endowment gifts may benefit all areas of the school or may be restricted to support specific programs.
What is Planned Giving?
Our Planned Giving program provides an opportunity to make a gift to Servite High School while at the same time securing the financial needs of family or loved ones. You can make a current planned gift, such as donating a gift of appreciated stock to the Annual Fund; or a deferred planned gift, which might include establishing a trust or annuity funded by stock, real estate, or life insurance. You may also name Servite High School as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or provide for Servite in your will. Servite welcomes planned gifts and encourages anyone considering them to consult with their financial advisor and to notify Servite of your planned gift.
What about capital fundraising initiatives?
Catholic schools depend on capital fundraising to supply funds for projects such as the purchase of land, construction of facilities, and renovations as well as to build endowment. A capital campaign gift typically provides a one-time infusion of capital pledged over a three to five year period. When we are not in the midst of a capital campaign, major capital gifts are still gratefully appreciated and may be directed toward a specific project or need of the school.
How does Servite use my information?
Servite High School is committed to protecting the privacy and integrity of your personal information. The school does not market, trade, or otherwise share donors’ personal information with any organization or reporting service. The school will limit its use of contact information of donors for these purposes only: transmittal of receipts for tax purposes, acknowledgment and thank you of donors for gifts, informing donors of upcoming events and fundraising activities at the school, and internal recordkeeping. Donor names are acknowledged and published in annual reports, unless a donor requests anonymity. If you have any questions about this privacy policy, please contact Pierce Denning at (657) 347-1356 or pdenning@servitehs.org.
