Director

Guitarist Andrew Stroud began musical studies in England, continuing in the U.S. with composer Thomas Coffey, American virtuoso Stephen Robinson, renowned pedagogue Bruce Holzman, and eminent French guitarist, Judicaël Perroy. He holds degrees from Stetson University and Florida State University.

As a soloist, Andrew has performed to enthusiastic reviews from audiences across Europe, the U.S., and South America. He has served as guest adjudicator, clinician, and performer for festivals such as Guitar Sarasota, Troy University Guitar Festival, and Festival Mediterreano della Chitarra. He won prizes at the Schadt Concerto Competition, Rosario Competition, and Columbus State University Symposium.

In 2007, fellow guitarist Adam Larison joined Andrew to form Duo 220. The duo has performed across the United States and United Kingdom, with performances at the Corsham Festival, Texas A&M Guitar Festival, University of Louisville Guitar Festival, Wilmington Guitar Society, Philadelphia Guitar Series, amongst many others. They have premiered works by composers Sebastian Anthony Birch, Mark Nowakowski, and Andrew Pfalz, and have made transcriptions of works by John Cage, Bohuslav Martinu, and Antonio Vivaldi.

Andrew has served as department chair for Wallace Community College in Dothan, AL where he founded the WCC Artist Series with a mission to bring new audiences to art music. In 2017, he accepted the position of director of the nationally lauded guitar program at Servite High School in Anaheim, California. His book, J.K. Mertz and Style Hongrois, served as the first work to identify stylistic sources within solo guitar works of Hungarian Style.
