Nurse’s Office

Servite has a full-time registered nurse on staff to support student’s basic health needs. The Nurses Office promotes health and safety across the entire campus. If it is not an emergency, students should go to the Nurse's Office during their passing period or lunch so as not to miss any class work. In addition, we have two On-Call nurses to fill in or cover when needed.

Mitigation Strategies

Servite High School will continue the following mitigation strategies to help protect the Servite community and campus from contagious diseases:

  • Hand Sanitation stations are in each classroom, office and throughout the campus.
  • KN95 and surgical masks are readily available.
  • Air purifiers- The 100, 200, 300 building and Theater are equipped with Plasma Purifiers in the AC units. The remaining classrooms and offices on campus are equipped with Aeramax Hospital grade Air Purifiers.

illness

Students need to stay home if sick in order to recover and not spread their illness to others. Please see the attached Illness Guidelines for more information and to know when to keep your son home from school.

For Servite Illness Guidelines please click HERE.

When a student becomes ill or injured during class, he should go to the Nurse’s office. If a student is too ill to remain in school, the nurse will notify the parents. Students are not allowed to make arrangements to go home on their own. If the parent is unavailable, the persons designated on the student's emergency card will be called. It is important that all phone numbers be kept current for the protection of the student. Leaving campus without an authorized passport is considered truancy.

Parents may report an absence to the Attendance Office at 714-204-3026.

Parents are requested to report all confirmed or suspected contagious diseases to the school nurse.

Medications

  • Tylenol, Advil/Motrin, Tums, Benadryl, Claritin/Zyrtec, and Pepto Bismol can only be given to students with parental consent through the OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATION CONSENT form found HERE. This form will be kept on file until your son graduates. There is no need to complete it every year. These medications are in stock in the nurse’s office and are not to be brought to school by students and kept in their backpack.
  • If your student needs to take a prescription medicine at school, it must be in a pharmacy-labeled medication container (labeled with the student's name, medication name, dosage, and frequency). In addition, a PARENT NOTIFICATION FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE AT SCHOOL form found HERE must be completed by the student’s healthcare provider and be on file in the Nurse’s office. Prescription medicines must be kept in the nurse’s office.
  • Students with asthma/allergies/diabetes (provided proper documentation is on file) may carry an inhaler, EpiPen, or diabetic medication with them. It is also highly recommended to keep an extra inhaler/EpiPen in the nurse’s office in case of an emergency. Diabetic students will need supplies, a doctor’s order, and diabetic contract on file in the nurse’s office as well. Students with Seizure disorder must have a Seizure Action Plan on file in the nurse’s office.

Medical Conditions

If your son has any of the following Medical conditions, please let the nurse know and be sure to update Aeries:

Diabetes, Epilepsy, Severe Asthma, Allergic reactions, especially Anaphylactic ones, or any other medical condition that the school should be made aware of.

Reporting Injuries

All accidents that are school related should be reported to the Nurse's Office. Sports injuries are reported to the coach and the trainer. If your son has an injury that makes it difficult to walk, he is on crutches or in a wheelchair, an elevator key can be obtained from Ms. Barrera.

Immunizations

To enter into Servite High School, incoming freshmen and transfer students must have immunizations that meet the California School Immunization Law, Health and Safety Code Sections 120325-120380. Incomplete or missing records will delay the admission process.

Servite follows Anaheim Union High School Districts requirement to have an updated Tuberculosis (TB) record. All students entering Servite as a freshman or a transfer student must have either a negative TB test or a TB Risk Assessment dated within 5 years of their start date.
