Servite Track & Field clinched their 3rd consecutive Trinity League Championship after going undefeated in league competition!
The Friars opened league play against Mater Dei earning a decisive win to gather some early momentum. Servite swept the 300 Hurdles, 800, 3200, High Jump and Shot Put over the Monarchs. Freshman Max Thomas also won the 200 for the Friars while sophomore Noah Avinger won the 400 and junior Nolan Blachowski took the top spot in the Pole Vault. In addition, senior Kyle Kimble won the 110 Hurdles and Hans Garcia came away with the win in the Long Jump for Servite.
The Friars quickly improved to 2-0 with a victory over JSerra. For the field events, the Servite won the Long Jump (Hans Garcia), Triple Jump (Malek Yehya), High Jump (Evan Selcho) and Discus (Jeminai Leuta-Ulu). Meanwhile on the track Servite took the top spot in the 4x100, 110 Hurdles (Kyle Kimble), 400 (Noah Avinger), 300 Hurdles (Brad Riehl) and the 200 (Max Thomas).
Servite's toughest competition came at Santa Margarita but the Friars were able to take down the Eagles to remain unbeaten. Overall Servite won 10 events while sweeping the Shot Put. In addition to winning both relays, Max Thomas (100), Noah Avinger (400), Micah Navarro (800), Aaron Libell (1600), Kyle Kimble (110 Hurdles), Nolan Blachowski (Pole Vault), Jeminai Leuta-Ulu (Discus) and Preston Kincaid (Shot Put) won individual events for the varsity Friars.
Track and Field kept the momentum going against Orange Lutheran sweeping the Lancers at all three levels. The varsity Friars won 10 events while sweeping the 200 and 400! Individual event champions included Kyle Kimble (110 Hurdles), Keagan Hayes (400), Max Thomas (100 & 200), Ethan Gutierrez (800), Brad Riehl (300 Hurdles), Nolan Blachowski (Pole Vault), Justin Jayaon (Long Jump & Triple Jump).
Last but not least, Servite hosted St. John Bosco for a winner takes all meet in which the Friars defeated the Braves to finish 5-0 and clinch the Trinity League title!
