In one day, two records that were etched in the Servite Track and Field record books 18 years ago were erased as junior Max Thomas posted faster times in both the 100 and 200 while running against elite competition at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational.

Thomas first ran 10.58 in the 100 to break Matthew Slater's (New England Patriots) record of 10.62 set in 2003 then followed up that performance blazing a state-best 21.37 in the 200 to win the event and set a second school-best mark.

A multi-sport athlete, Thomas is also a three-year varsity letterman in soccer helping the Friars win the CIF-SS D1 title in 2020.
