JP Jugo has resigned his position as head tennis coach after 11 seasons with the Friars. He will remain at Servite as a teacher and serve in other roles within the community. 

During his time with the tennis program, Coach Jugo led the team to a CIF-SS Division 3 Championship in 2021 and back-to-back Trinity League titles in 2021 and 2022. He also coached five players who went on to compete collegiately and had over 60 athletes earn All-League recognition. 

Athletic Director Matt Marrujo shared, “On behalf of the leadership team and administration, I would like to thank Coach Jugo for his years of service and dedication to the tennis program. During his tenure, we saw the team reach great heights athletically, but more importantly, Coach Jugo created an environment where formation was at the heart of everything they were doing. He has had a lasting impact on the lives of his tennis players and will continue to make a difference in his student's lives in the classroom and across campus.” 

Coach Jugo ‘05 said, “For more than 20 years, Servite Tennis has been an integral part of my life and purpose so this decision was extremely difficult. I feel truly blessed to have guided our young men on and off the court and been witness to their growth and achievement forming into men of Servite. Their desire and dedication are the lifeblood of this program and always will be. Thank you to all the families who entrusted the development of their sons to my watch and care. Please know how much I appreciate and cherish the relationships we have grown together.” 

Principal Windisch added, “On behalf of the entire Servite community, I want to express our deepest gratitude to Coach Jugo for his incredible leadership and unwavering dedication over the past 11 seasons. His accomplishments on the court are remarkable, but even more impactful has been his commitment to forming young men of faith, character, and brotherhood. We are thankful that while his coaching chapter is concluding, his presence and influence will continue in our science department and throughout campus life. Coach Jugo remains a valued and vital member of the Servite family.”
