After playing singles most of their individual seasons, junior Chris Marci and freshman Alejandro Hill came together as a doubles team for the Trinity League Tournament. The no. 3 seed, the Friars' duo made quick work of their first day of play defeating Mater Dei teams in both the opening and second rounds of competition to advance to day two.
Marci and Hill continued the momentum topping tournament host, no. 2 seed JSerra in semifinals to earn a spot in the final. The berth was a return trip for Marci who won the title in 2021 as well with fellow Friar Andy Loughran '22.
The experience paid off as Marci and Hill came away with the victory defeating the top seed, Santa Margarita to win the 2023 Trinity Doubles Championship and punch their ticket to the CIF-SS Individual Tournament.
The doubles team went on to represent Servite at CIF going 3-0 in day one of competition at Lakewood Tennis Center earning a bye before defeating Mark Keppel 6-0, 6-0 and Walnut 6-0, 6-2 to cruise to the round of 32. During day two of play at the Biszantz Tennis Center, Marci and Hill earned their second bye of the tournament earning a spot in the top 16 before dropping a tough match 6-4, 6-4 to end their impressive run.
