Eddie Villeda '22 has won pretty much every award possible throughout his high school career culminating with the announcement naming him the United Soccer Coaches State Player of the Year and High School All-American, one of only twenty players nationwide to earn the recognition!
After the original announcement of his nomination in July, he was recognized in January at a national ceremony held in Philadelphia, PA.
Previously, Villeda became Servite's first-ever Gatorade Soccer State Player of the Year, an honor he was bestowed after being named CIF Division 1 Player of the Year and OCVarsity Boys Soccer Player of the Year.
A four-year varsity letterman for the Friars, Villeda graduates as one of, if not the most, accomplished soccer players in school history. During his storied career, he was selected All-Trinity League four times, Trinity League MVP, AlL-CIF twice and All-Orange County while leading the team to four Trinity League titles, two CIF-SS D1 Championships and the program's first CIF State D1 Regional Championship. In addition, he set new school records for single season assists (23) and total career points (121).
Since graduating, he has moved on to compete for UC Santa Barbara.
