Servite High School is excited to announce the hiring of Alex Ramirez as head soccer coach. Coach Ramirez brings nearly two decades of coaching experience to the Friars and a passion for using soccer to teach life lessons and emphasize the importance of being a well-rounded student-athlete.
Athletic Director Matt Marrujo shared, “We are very excited to announce Alex Ramirez as our Head Soccer coach. Coach Ramirez has demonstrated a commitment to education-based athletics that makes him the ideal leader of our soccer program. He is a proven head coach, who built both his soccer program and athletic department with the same values and mission we hold so special at Servite. Under his leadership, I am confident that our championship program will continue to excel both on and off the field.”
Coach Ramirez comes to the Friars from Savanna High School where he served as the head soccer coach for 17 years, most recently winning the Orange League Championship in 2024 while being named Orange League Coach of the Year. In addition, he coaches with the Irvine Pateadores Soccer Club.
Coach Ramirez shared "I am honored and excited to accept the position of Head Boys Soccer Coach at Servite High School. I have felt the Lord's call, and through much prayer, He has led me to Servite; a school that is synonymous with the pursuit of excellence in the classroom and on the field. I want to express my sincere thanks to Mr. Walswick, Mrs. Windisch, and Mr. Marrujo for the opportunity to serve such an impressive community. I am committed to contributing to Servite Soccer's proud legacy of developing young men of the highest character."
Ramirez has dedicated his career to working in education, serving in a variety of diverse roles at Savanna High School including teaching English and Mathematics since 2007, working as the Athletic Director since 2017 and coaching the Track & Field team since 2018. He holds a BA in English: Writing and Rhetoric from Pepperdine University and a Single Subject Credential with CLAD from National University.
Servite High School would like to welcome Coach Ramirez, with his wife Jennifer and children, Juliet, Isabel and Louis, to the Friar family.
