Senior Mason LaBow has committed to play golf at Southern Oregon. The Friars’ captain shared, “I chose Southern Oregon because I believe the coach will get me to the next level after college and the facilities there are extraordinary.”

A four-year varsity letterman for Servite Golf, LaBow won the 2023 Individual Trinity League Championship becoming the 3rd straight Friar to accomplish such a feat. He shot rounds of 71 and 73 at at Los Serranos North then won a playoff to ultimately secure the title. In addition, he earned 2nd Team All-Trinity League honors as a junior. LaBow was also a member of the 2021 team that brought home Servite’s first ever SCGA State title.

Coach Dane Jako shared, “There’s a saying that goes – ‘Players don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.’ Mason and I have built a great relationship throughout his high school career and he cares more than any player I have ever coached. When Mason saw how much I cared about him, this school and program, that is when I got the best out of him. He will always be a big part of Servite Golf and has an exciting future ahead of him.”

LaBow is the first senior golfer to announce his commitment but joins a long list of talented student-athletes who have gone on to compete at the next level.

In closing LaBow added, “Thank you Mom for sending me to Servite. I could not be where I am today without you. You sacrifice so much for me and I am truly grateful. I would also like to thank my grandparents for all they have done and sacrifices they have made. In addition, I would like to thank Coach Jako for developing me as a better player and person throughout my 4 years at Servite. Lastly, I would like to thank my swing coach, Tom Sargent, who has been there for me every step of the way.”
