The culmination of a decorated high school career, Jared Steins competed at this weekend's CIF State Cross Country Meet placing 4th overall in the D3 race. The Friars' senior posted a 15:15.5 in his final race coming in just behind runners from Tamalpais, West Torrance and Pasadena.
A four-year letterman in both cross country and track and field, Steins will graduate as one of the most accomplished distance runners in school history.
In cross country, he earned 1st Team All-Trinity League accolades all four years, being named MVP his junior season before going on to break the school record in the mile this season.
