Please join me in welcoming our new Men’s Basketball Head Coach, Kyle Wallace, to the Jaguar Athletics Family!  Coach Wallace spoke about joining the Jags; “First, I’d like to thank Jim Spillers for this opportunity to be the next Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Southwestern College.  I am very thankful and blessed to be apart of the Jaguar family.  I’d also like to thank Andy Ground.  Without his guidance and support, I wouldn’t be in this position.  I am looking forward to working with all of the student-athletes, faculty and other support staff that combine to make Southwestern such a special place to be.”

A little about Coach Wallace…

Kyle Wallace has spent the last six seasons as an Assistant Coach at the Community College level. Five of those seasons were spent at Saddleback College, under the tutelage of Andy Ground. During those five seasons, Wallace helped the Gauchos to 121 wins, with three OEC Conference Championships and two State Championship Game appearances, winning the title in 2015.

Wallace mainly worked on the defensive side of the ball for the Saddleback coaching staff. During those years, the Gauchos were near the top of the list in the State when it came to defensive statistics. For three straight seasons, the Gauchos either lead the State in Opponent 2pt FG% or Opponents PPG. While watching film and implementing game-plans were keys to success, having great student-athletes helped achieve those goals.

Along with having his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education, Wallace also received his Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine.

Welcome to the Jaguar Family! Go Jags!
