Servite Athletics celebrated the annual Hall of Fame Dinner and All Sports Banquet on Wednesday, May 22nd at Orange Hill Restaurant honoring the excellence with past and present Friar athletes. After the announcement of the 2024 Athlete of the Year, two alumni were inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Baseball player Ben Francisco '99 was inducted by his classmate and former teammate Mike Irwin then football player Chris Galippo '07 was introduced by former Servite principal Ray Dunne.
Ben Francisco Career Highlights:
- Baseball, Outfielder
- 1999 Golden West League MVP
- Hit .60 with 6 HR, 32 RBIs, 10 SB senior year
- 2x All-League
- All-CIF
- All-Orange County
- Golden West League Champions 1996-1999
- UCLA 2001-2002
- All-PAC 10
- Best Defensive Player Award
- Hit .332 with 129 hits, 12 HR, 70 RBIs for the Bruins
- Drafted by the Indians in the 32nd round out of high school
- Drafted by the Indians in the 5th round of the 2022 MLB Draft
- Made his MLB debut in 2007
- Played for the Indians, Phillies, Blue Jays, Astros, Rays & Yankees during his MLB career

- 2x OC Register Defensive Player of the Year
- Recognized All-American by 7 organizations
- #2 rated player from the 2007 class by ESPN
- #1 ranked linebacker in the nation in 2007

- Servite record holder for single season (161) and career (386) tackles
- USC 2007-2011
- 2x All-PAC 10 Honorable Mention
- 2009 Sophomore All-American
- Played in 51 games for the Trojans
- Finished his college career with 166 tackles, 6 interceptions, 15.5 tackles for loss, 5 forced fumbles
- Signed with the Colts in 2012
