Servite Baseball (19-12) concluded Trinity League play with a series victory over St. John Bosco taking 2-of-3 games from the Braves.

In game one, freshman Chris Grothues threw a complete game while fellow freshman Trevor Schmidt tallied both RBIs for the Friars. It was Grothues' third CG of the season and his fourth time pitching seven innings.

Down 1-0, the Friars scored both their runs in the 5th during a two-out rally. Garret Guillemette got it started for Servite singling to left before Sean Lugo and Jake Lappin worked back-to-back walks to load the bases for Schmidt who lined an RBI single to right to drive in two and put Servite up 2-1.

That's all Grothues needed to close out the victory for the Friars.

In game two, Purdue commit Knolton Clark got the start and the win on Senior Night tossing five hitless innings while junior Sean Galvin pitched in relief to earn the save, his third of league play. Mikey Santos tallied two RBIs for Servite while Sean Lugo added one.

Playoff brackets come out Monday with the first round to be played Thursday, May 2nd.
