BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

"The best part about being at an all-boys school, personally, is that I get to surround myself with people who have similar interests and think in kind of the same way I do. I can be rowdy and crazy, and nobody will cast side glances at me or look at me weird. I can be completely myself without ever feeling judged or awkward about it."

"Personally, my go-to place is Mrs. DiCrisi’s chemistry lab for two main reasons. There’s a microwave I can use to heat up my food, and I can always count on at least one of my friends already being there or showing up. If I feel like I’m slipping in one or two of my classes or have a test coming up next period, I can study in relative silence or get help directly from Mrs. DiCrisi."

"The craziest thing that has happened in my Priory was actually during the Priory Summit after the 2024–2025 school year ended. We competed in football, and our team was not in any shape to win or expected to win—in fact, we had lost most of our practice games against other priories. However, during the actual match, my Priory pulled through and beat a team made up of four of the bigger and more athletic Friars, causing an upset that left us feeling confident for the rest of the Summit."

"My personal favorite teacher is Mr. Betts, and although he isn’t an “academic” teacher, he’s an amazing director, mentor, and theater teacher. He has taught me so much about feeling emotions, which applies both in and out of theater, and has helped me really find myself and hone my talents on stage and off."

"Something I’m surprised that isn’t advertised more is the extracurricular diversity at Servite. I’m a part of priory, theater, tutoring, volunteer work, and a bunch of clubs. Although I enjoy interacting with a lot of the Friars that I share interests with, I also find it really easy to connect with other boys in extracurriculars that aren’t in common with me, and it’s just so easy to interact with a random friar while passing by, even if you barely know them."
