SUMMER SCHOOL 2025
The Servite Summer School Program strives to offer remediation/credit recovery and advancement opportunities to the students of Servite. Additionally, we offer an incoming Freshman Academy program for advancement, review, and enrichment; these courses are meant for students who would benefit from the reinforcement of foundational skills or for students who would like to experience academics on the campus before they officially attend school as freshmen.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR CURRENT
AND FUTURE SERVITE STUDENTS:
If you are required to take summer school and are currently a Servite student or will be one in the fall, your counselor has registered you for summer school. If you would like to take a summer school advancement course, please be sure to indicate so on your course request sheet and submit to your counselor. Online Registration is only for Non-Servite students.
Summer School fees will be automatically added to the new Enrollment Portal Billing System. You will receive an email statement for your balance due. From this email, you will be able to click on the payment link to pay immediately or your payment will be automatically deducted, on the email due date, through the AutoPay account you set up during your 2025/26 enrollment process.
Servite strives to offer its students a comprehensive remediation program. Our students receive access to our digital textbooks that allow them to work from anywhere they have an internet connection. Students repeat the course they are remediating, focusing on the mastery of concepts covered in the course. Teacher interaction, comparable content and rigor, regular feedback, and hybrid learning, all combine to make the remediation experience a genuine opportunity to review previous content and prepare for future courses.
Servite students who want to take an Advancement Geometry course must be cleared to do so by their counselor. Advancement Geometry (both Honors and College Prep) are rigorous courses that move at a very fast pace. Students who take an advancement math course must be committed to working diligently on their assignments and keeping up with the pace so that they are successful and effectively learn the skills taught in the course.
A student who enrolls in an advancement course can withdraw from the course no later than 4:00 p.m. on the fourth day of class without any effect to his transcript. Any student who does not officially withdraw from the class before that date will show the earned grade on the transcript and may need to remediate that class if the grade earned is a D or an F. Grades of C or higher cannot be remediated. Students who withdraw from any summer school class after 4:00 p.m. the first day of class will not receive a refund.
FRESHMAN ACADEMY
Freshman Academy includes all courses that incoming freshmen may take during the summer. These fall into two categories: Review and Advancement.
Our review and enrichment courses offer incoming high school students a fantastic opportunity to get acquainted with the campus and meet new classmates before starting their freshman year. These dynamic 2-week crash courses provide a glimpse into the expectations and skills needed to excel in a variety of subjects. Students will gain valuable insights into the rigor and requirements of high school, ensuring they are well-prepared to hit the ground running in the fall.
Review
Based on High School Placement Test scores and a thorough review of their application files, some students are recommended or required to take Freshman Academy Review classes such as Pre-Composition, Study Skills/Reading, and Math Foundations. Students and their families are informed by Admissions if any of these courses are necessary. In rare cases, a student’s acceptance to Servite is contingent upon completing Freshman Academy Review coursework. Families in these situations will have ongoing communication with the school, and meetings will be held if progress does not meet expectations. If a student required to attend summer school as a condition of acceptance fails to do so, their acceptance to Servite will be revoked.
Enrichment
At Servite High School, we offer a range of enrichment courses designed for students in the College Prep and Honors Prep tracks. These courses are perfect for those who wish to develop a deeper understanding of the coursework that lies ahead. Our offerings include: Introduction to Biology, Honors Math Prep, English 1 Prep, & Algebra 1 Prep. These enrichment courses provide a valuable window into the expectations of Math, Science, and English classes, and offer an initial journey with our faculty.
Specifically offered for incoming honors students who wish to pursue athletics or multiple years of a fine art in addition to our advanced curriculum. Taking this course over the summer alleviates the need to take a zero period class freshman year. If space allows, college prep students wanting to start a fine art in addition to their foreign language may also take this course. Parents are encouraged to contact their son's counselor if they have any questions.
