Men's Choir
Select Choir
Select Choir is an elite group of talented singers chosen annually on the basis of their musical skills. Because of its quick pace, sophisticated rehearsal requirements, and additional performing opportunities, Select Choir demands a significantly larger amount of outside work than Men’s Chorus. The advanced repertoire is taken from the full spectrum of the choral art. The ensemble participates in Mass, school and community events, sporting events, choral festivals and two major concerts on campus including the Christmas Choral Concert and the Spring Choral Concert. The Select Choir has toured and performed at The Grotto in Portland, Oregon; Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica in Chicago, Illinois; Monte Senario and The Panteon in Rome, Italy as well as Festival Disney in Orlando, Florida where they earned the top rating of Superior and Carnegie Hall, New York in the spring of 2016.
Men’s Chorus
The Men’s Chorus is an entry-level choir with no experience necessary. In this class students learn the technical aspects of good singing including breath support, creating good tone, expanding range, and singing in various languages. Students will also learn introductory musical concepts of rhythm, harmony, melody, dynamics, and elements of form. Students study repertoire from a variety of genres including Classical, Pop, Broadway, Gospel, Jazz and Contemporary Christian.
Performance requirements include two concerts a year - Christmas Choral Concert and Spring Choral Concert.
