Servite High School is proud to announce the hiring of Tim Ludeke as head tennis coach. Coach Ludeke will fill the opening left following Coach JP Jugo’s decision to step down and focus on his teaching role on campus. 

Athletic Director Matt Marrujo shared, “We are excited to welcome Coach Ludeke back to Servite after first coaching the Friars in the 90s. He brings a wealth of knowledge and high level coaching acumen to build upon the strong program that has already been established. He is committed to helping each of his athletes develop into the best version of themselves both on and off the court and possesses a unique perspective of the history of the team.” 

Coach Ludeke brings over 35 years of player development experience to the tennis program working across high school, club and private coaching. Most recently, he led Villa Park to the CIF Finals for the first time in school history, finishing the season as League Champions and CIF Finalists. For his work, he was named the OC Register and RSPA Southern California Coach of the Year. 

Coach Ludeke  said, “Returning to Servite as Head Tennis Coach is incredibly special to me—this is where my coaching career began. I’m excited to build on the strong foundation of this program. I look forward to helping our players build confidence, develop their skills, and create memories they'll carry long after they leave the court. It’s an honor to lead this program and be part of the Servite community once again.”

Prior to his work with the Spartans, Ludeke served as the tennis professional at Woodbridge Tennis Club, Irvine from 1995-2016 and the tennis professional at the La Habra Tennis Center from 1990-1995. He holds his RSPA (USPTA) Elite Professional certification and serves on the RSPA (USPTA) Southern California Board of Directors. 

As part of his vast experience, Ludeke prides himself in his knowledge of player development and progression, competitive match strategy, biomechanics and injury prevention and athlete mentorship. 

Ludeke holds a BA in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton. Servite High School would like to welcome Coach Ludeke, his wife Betty and children to the Friar family.
