We are excited to announce that Servite High School has earned Gold status on the College Board's AP School Honor Roll for the 2023-24 school year! This prestigious recognition is given to schools that have made significant strides in welcoming more students into Advanced Placement (AP) courses, providing them with the support needed for college success. 

In addition to being named to the AP Honor Roll, Servite High School has also been recognized with the AP Access Award. This award celebrates schools that actively encourage low-income and underrepresented minority students to enroll in AP courses. At Servite, the percentage of students from these groups who have taken at least one AP exam before graduation is proportional to or even higher than their representation in the student body, reflecting our ongoing commitment to equitable access to advanced coursework.

"This recognition is especially gratifying as we try to engage all students in preparation for college," said Hilary Recknor, Senior Director of Counseling.  "Data has shown this exposure is a strong indicator of future success in college.  This honor reflects the hard work of all teachers who are collectively strategizing to provide opportunities and access to more students to engage in advanced, honors, and AP coursework.  It is also a testament to our AP teachers who work to be more inclusive than exclusive and are constantly developing teaching strategies to prepare all students for success in college and beyond."

Research shows that students who take AP courses are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. Even for those who don’t earn college credit, AP courses provide early exposure to college-level work.
