The Last Man Society, a close-knit brotherhood of 18 men who have stayed connected for more than four decades. They continue to honor the friendships that shaped their youth and anchor their lives today. Members of the group represent three Southern California high schools: Corona Del Mar, Mission Viejo, and Servite.

Among the 18 members, two are alumni from Servite High School, Greg Wilfahrt ’78 and Brendan Devlin ’79. The remainder of the group includes 15 alumni from Corona del Mar High School and one graduate from Mission Viejo High School. Greg and Brendan’s connection to Servite, a school known for forming faith-filled leaders through academics, character development, and brotherhood, mirrors the ethos of the Last Man Society itself.

Greg was recently interviewed on KUSI, where he shared the story of the group’s founding and its enduring traditions. Greg hopes this story will inspire the youth today to find those meaningful connections, seek out friendships, and let the people around you know that you love them.

Each year, the members gather for 24HOLM, short for 24 Hours of Last Man, an annual event dedicated to celebrating their enduring friendships. During the gathering, they raise a shared toast, reciting the words that have defined their bond:

“Each Year We'll Toast Together
The Friendships We Have Shared,
Until The Last Man…
And He Shall Toast Alone.”

The final phrase, abbreviated AHSTA (And He Shall Toast Alone), is the society’s signature expression, both a tribute to their past and a powerful reminder of their lifelong commitment to one another.
