Congratulations to senior Josh Siebert on completing the OC Marathon this weekend! After completing the 2024 Track and Field season Josh felt called to complete a marathon. Lucky for him, the OC Marathon was a week away.

"I prepared just by completing the track workouts set by Coach Hills and focused on training for the mile. Running an official marathon has been something I have thought about from time to time since freshman year. However, after witnessing Coach De La Cruz run the Long Beach marathon, I decided that it was something I needed to do. When my season finished, after league finals, I decided I was in good enough shape and should try and run a marathon. Sure enough, a week later, there was a marathon in Newport Beach, and I signed up. Coach De La Cruz and Coach Hills provided me with a schedule for what to run the week before and helped me set up a game plan for the race. Finally, race day came, and I picked up the pace as I went, eventually finding myself at the finish line."

Josh finished with an impressive time of 3 hours and 2 minutes, averaging a pace of 6 minutes and 58 seconds per mile. Josh also placed 3rd in his age division with an overall finish of 88 out of 2,958 participants. Congratulations, Josh! We are proud of you.
