Servite High School is proud to announce that Parker Buetow ’26 has been named a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist!

This prestigious recognition places Parker among the highest-achieving high school students in the nation and reflects his exceptional academic performance, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.

Over 1.3 million juniors in about 20,000 high schools entered the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists—representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors—includes the highest-scoring students in each state.

As Parker advances in the competition, he will now complete an extensive application to be considered for Finalist standing, including an essay, outstanding academic record, recommendations, and confirming SAT/ACT scores. Roughly 95% of Semifinalists are expected to achieve Finalist status, with a chance to earn one of the 7,500 National Merit Scholarships awarded in the spring.

We are proud of Parker and wish him the best as he continues this journey. Please join us in congratulating him on this outstanding accomplishment and keeping him in your prayers as he represents Servite at the national level!
