Lucas Rodriguez has signed to play water polo at Concordia University, Irvine. The Friars' senior shared, "I chose Concordia because I love the school, location, and how close it is to home. The team is also an awesome, welcoming program with a new coach who I'm excited to play for."
A four-year varsity letterman, Rodriguez earned All-Trinity League action as a senior while serving as the team captain. He was also named Team MVP and honored with the Hardest Workker award.
Coach Coffman shared, "Lucas was a 4-year starter for us and did an amazing job at the center position. He will have an immediate impact at Concordia. I couldn't think of a better place both academically and athletically. I look forward to seeing him excel at the collegiate level."
Rodriguez, who plans to study Business/Accounting at Concordia, will join fellow Friar Sam Diamond '22 in playing for the Eagles.
In closing Rodriguez shared, "Thank you to God, most importantly, and thank you to my parents and coaches for pushing me and getting me to be the player that I am today. I wouldn't be here without you."
