With the 22nd pick in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers selected Keith Taylor '17! The former Washington cornerback becomes the 10th Friar picked in the draft and now joins Matt Slater '03 (Patriots), Equanimeous St. Brown '15 (Packers) and Travis Jonsen '15 (Buccaneers) in the league.
A two-year varsity starter for Servite, Taylor was named 1st Team All-Trinity League and 3rd Team All-Orange County his senior season. He was also a member of the Curia and selected to participate in the 2017 Polynesian Bowl. Throughout his high school career he tallied 46 tackles and one interception playing in 15 games.
A multi-sport athlete, Taylor also ran track for the Friars winning Trinity League titles in the 100 and 4x100 relay his senior year. The 400 meter team also broke the Servite record in the event running 41.74.
A longtime Washington commit, Taylor moved on to play for the Huskies appearing in all but one game during his four seasons. He started all four games in 2020, and all 13 in 2019.
