Servite High School is proud to announce the hiring of Eric Carnohan as the Director of Aquatics. Coach Carnohan comes to Servite with extensive national and international experience as both a water polo coach and player, as well as a proven track record of building elite programs from the ground up.

Athletic Director Matt Marrujo shared, “Eric is a proven winner with a pedigree of success at every level. His record reflects not only competitive excellence but a deep understanding of how to build and sustain winning cultures. While his experience is second to none, what truly stood out during our search was his unwavering alignment with our mission: to form faith-filled leaders both in and out of the pool. We are extremely excited to welcome Eric to campus and begin this next chapter in the aquatics program together.”

Carnohan is one of the founders and head coach of Los Angeles Athletic Club (LAAC) Men’s Water Polo, widely recognized as one of the premier men’s clubs in the United States, leading the program to three consecutive Senior Nationals finals appearances and earning USA Water Polo National League Coach of the Year honors. During his tenure, he has coached several Olympians and world-class athletes, including Ryder Dodd, Chase Dodd, Denes Varga, and Filip Filipovic.

Coach Carnohan said, “I’m truly honored to lead Servite Water Polo and grateful for the trust the school has placed in me. Servite’s tradition, brotherhood, and commitment to formation make it a special place, and I’m excited to build a culture rooted in faith, discipline, and excellence. We will develop outstanding young men and relentlessly pursue excellence in the Trinity League as we work to restore Servite Aquatics to national prominence and represent the school with pride every day.”

In addition to his elite-level coaching, Carnohan has significant experience developing high school and age-group athletes, previously serving at Vista High School and as the head coach of the 18U Boys program with North San Diego Stars, where he mentored numerous players who advanced to collegiate opportunities.

As a player, Carnohan competed professionally in Spain and Australia and was a member of the U.S. Men’s National Team. A standout at California Baptist University, he earned All-American and Academic All-American honors and was later named to the program’s All-Decade Team (2010–2020). Known for his emphasis on discipline, character, and long-term development, Carnohan is excited to build a championship culture and lead Servite Aquatics going forward.
