For the second year in a row, Coach Brandon Thomas has been named California Coach of the Year by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. 

Thomas led the Friars to back-to-back CIF State Championships in 2025 and 2026, the first two in Servite Track & Field history, tallying the most points in state tournament history this season with 60.

In addition, the team won individual state titles in the 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, and the 100m (Benjamin Harris) this spring.

His relay teams posted the fastest times in the nation in the 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x400m, becoming the first high school to accomplish the feat. The 4x100m and 4x200m also set new California records, while all three times broke Servite records. 

To top it all off, the 4x100m made state history in April, becoming the first team ever to run sub-40 seconds, a feat they went on to accomplish multiple times throughout the year, running a season-best 39.70 at the Arcadia Invitational. 

In addition to the relay accolades, Servite swept most sprint events throughout the season, winning titles in the 100, 200 and 400 at Trinity League and CIF-SS. Impressively, by the end of the year, five different Friars ran sub-21 in the 200m, another record-setting team and individual accomplishment.
