Class of 2018 Graduates Chad Deegan and Jack Rahon Earn Golf All-America Scholar Recognition

College sophomores and 2018 Servite graduates Chad Deegan (US Naval Academy) and Jack Rahon (Seattle University) have earned Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar recognition as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

To be eligible for All-America status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. For 2019-20 only, they must participate in 40% of the team's competitive rounds.

Deegan carries a 3.29 cumulative GPA in quantitative economics and earned Dean's List and Commandant's List honors after turning in a 3.84 GPA this spring. On the links, he posted the team's second-lowest stroke average for the year, covering five events and 14 rounds with a 72.64 mark. His career-best seventh-place finish at The Doc Gimmler in September helped Navy win the team title by 9 strokes. 

Rahon lowered his scoring average to 72.77, recorded one top-4 finish and shot five eagles on the season while being selected WAC Golfer of the Week in February.
