Senior Cameron Xiao has committed to play golf at California State University, Fullerton. Xiao chose CSUF because of the proximity to home, the impressive business program and the recent success of the golf team. He was also impressed that every member of the program has access to play at three golf clubs.
A four-year varsity letterman for the Friars, Xiao has helped lead Servite Golf to three consecutive CIF-SS Championships and three straight Trinity League titles during his high school career with his senior season yet to be played. Individually, he is also a 3x All-Trinity League selection while earning All-County recognition his sophomore year.
Coach Dane Jako shared, "Cameron is a wonderful young man and I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to coach and get to know him and his family over the last four years. He has come along way and is one of the best TEAM guys I have ever coached. Cal State Fullerton is very lucky to get him and I know he will do well."
Outside of Servite, Xiao has put together an impressive resumé which includes the following:
- 2018 Yorba Linda Country Club Junior Champion
- 2018 California State Open competitor
- 2018 Top 15 Toyota Tour Cup points rank
- Four time Toyota Tour Cup runner-up
Xiao, who plans to study business at Fullerton, is the fourth Friar since 2013 to play for the Titans following in the footsteps of Martin Manalo '13, Davis Holman '14 and reigning Big West Champion Matt Wilson '15.
In closing Xiao shared, "I'd like to thank my family for supporting me, helping me to get to this point and making so many sacrifices for me. I also would like to thank Coach Jako for believing in and supporting me all these years, I wouldn't be where I am today without him."
Servite would like to congratulate Cameron on committing and wish him the best of luck in his senior season.
