Leadership

Since 1958, Servite High School has provided young men with a Catholic college preparatory education guided by the charism of the Order of Friars Servants of Mary. Servite is a school where academic prowess thrives, where young men are involved in their community, and where a brotherhood is created that will last a lifetime.

To ensure that our long tradition of excellence is honored and expanded, the Order of Friar Servants of Mary entrusts the leadership of the school to a President and Leadership team with extensive experience. The Leadership Team also relies on guidance and direction from a Board of Directors dedicated to Servite's mission as well as a Board of Regents that acts in an advisory capacity.

Board of Directors

Servite High School’s Board of Directors is a governing Board. This means that the Board is  responsible for governing the activities of the School. Servite’s Bylaws state “The affairs, business and all legal matters of the [School] shall be managed by the Board of Directors under the authority and direction of the [Servite  Order].” While the responsibility of the Board is broad, the Board does not try to run the school on a day to day basis. Instead, the School will be operated by professional staff, subject to Board oversight. The key members of this professional staff, as identified in the Servite Bylaws, are the President, the Chief Financial Officer and the  Principal.

The Board, working with the Servite Order, has devised a governance model which outlines how the Board will provide oversight of the School, while at the same time empowering professional staff to operate the School. This model follows the governance approach first developed by Dr. John Carver, widely recognized as a leader in the field of non-profit organizational governance. The Servite Governance Model focuses primarily on a single relationship – the relationship between the Servite Board of Directors and the President of Servite.
