VP's Message
Dear Servite Family:
Things have changed.
Those three words mean so much. For some who receive this magazine, those words may be long awaited. For others, those words may cause some concern. As an alumnus, for me, it begs many questions, like "is all this simply about change for change's sake?"
Change without vision is just change. In the last twelve months, Servite High School has witnessed a remarkable number of changes-all with an eye toward the future—any one of which would, itself, be considered extraordinary. From hiring the first lay President in the school's forty-six year history to implementing a one-of-a-kind Freshman Formation Program and Formation Weekend (regarded by one parent as "the greatest single experience my son has ever had"). Servite is far from finished innovating. Other, immediate changes range from a state-of-the-art Turf Tech Football Field to extraordinary mobile computer lab equipment to new faces leading Friar Football, Friar Lacrosse, and the fourteen new faces teaching future graduating classes of Friar Men. Among the many other aggressive moves to secure our spot among the top, pre-eminent leadership prep, college prep schools is the creation of a formal leadership certificate program in partnership with several leading universities (called by one Fortune 500 business leader "the most important event in the education of a future leader").
The Vision for Servite High School is stronger than ever. Campus leadership is quite simply redefining how the school does business. We are investigating new and exciting partnerships with business and higher education. We are working very hard to build even greater value in the relationships our supporters have with us. But getting to the point of execution takes time and help. Planning and executing on the future for Servite demands countless resources. The leadership of the school is already reaching out to experts in a number of critical areas to advise us on the difficult decisions that await. The forward looking growth and development of Servite also takes financial resources, too.
Your support matters. Whether it is financial or volunteering to become a part of our new initiative, the "Servite Key Family Network," your role in the future of Servite is invaluable. Simply wearing your servite gear to mass or to the store (provided as a part of our Key Family Network) let's those around you know that one more person has been affected by and believes in the promise of Servite High School.
A smart investor always seeks high rates of return. Servite High School is yielding significant dividends. Consider an investment of any amount, of any kind.
Credo,
Frank Talarico, '88
