When is Servite High School’s Open House?

Servite’s Open House will be held on campus Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

When is the High School Placement Entrance Exam?

The HSPT Entrance Exam will be given at Servite High School on Saturday, Saturday, January 26, 2013.

Does Servite accept Entrance Exams taken at other Catholic Schools?

With the number of applications that Servite receives, it is highly recommended that your son take the Entrance Exam here at Servite. If your circumstances prohibit this, however, Servite will accept the High School Placement Test (HSPT) taken at another school. Be sure to speak with the school’s registrar to arrange for the exam to be sent to Servite’s Admissions office.

What criterion is used for admissions?

Academic aptitude and leadership potential are assessed through 7th and 8th grade academic records, standardized test scores, entrance exam scores, personal interviews and recommendation forms from 8th grade English and Math teachers.

When is the acceptance letter sent?

The acceptance letters for Early Admissions will be sent out 5-10 business days after the posted admissions deadline for Early and Regular Admission. For more information regarding the admissions calendar and important dates, please visit www.servitehs.org.

How is Honors Placement determined?

Due to the wide variety of school and curricula from which our students come to us, Honors Placement for the freshman year is based on the Entrance Placement Exam and Math or Spanish Challenge Exam scores. Decisions made by the Admissions Committee are final and, once admitted, students cannot “opt into” the Honors Program. Honors placement for sophomore, junior and senior year is open to all students and is based on student’s performance and teacher recommendations at Servite.

When is the Math Challenge exam given?

The Math Challenge exam will be given on May 21, 2013. This exam is available to incoming freshmen already in the Honors Program. Please allow 45-60 minutes for this exam. Incoming freshmen, if successful, can then take CP Algebra II, HP Algebra II their first year and Geometry and Pre-Calculus as sophomores.

Can Freshmen take a foreign language?

Freshmen can enroll in Spanish I, French I or Latin I as their elective. Math/Science and Full Honor students must take a “zero” period to accommodate a language selection.

When is the Spanish Challenge exam given?

The Spanish Challenge exam is an option for all incoming freshmen interested in taking Honors Spanish I or above on May 22, 2013.

What is the average class size?

The average class size is 19 students., with a 14:1 student to teacher ratio. Honors and Advanced Placement classes are usually smaller.

Is Academic Assistance available?

Yes, additional academic support is available as needed during “zero” period (7:00 – 8:00 AM) three days a week. This class helps students.

What percentage of Servite students attend college?

On average, 99% of Servite graduates go on to college. In fact, at the time of their graduation, 99% of the Class of 2012 were college bound.

How many Christian Service hours are required?

100 hours must be complete over four years.

What is the length of the school day?

Most students are on a school schedule that runs from 8:00 AM to 2:50 PM.

When is Freshman Formation? Is it mandatory?

Freshman Formation for the Class of 2017 is scheduled for July 26-28, 2013. All incoming freshmen are required to attend.

When are summer school classes scheduled for incoming freshmen?

June 24 to July 26, 2013.

What is the current tuition cost? Are there other expenses?
