What is the Servite Alumni Challenge?

The Servite Madness Alumni Challenge begins February 1! Each Servite Alumni class is challenged to compete during the Challenge to be this year's champion.

Who is participating in the Servite Alumni Challenge?

The competition includes all Servite alumni from the graduating classes of 1962-2016.

How long will the competition last?

The competition runs from July 1, 2016 - March 31, 2017. Special Alumni Challenge promotions are going on from February 1-March 31, 2017, but all Annual Fund donations made in the current fiscal year count. So if you made a gift already this year, it counts. (But we wouldn't mind additional support!)

How is the winner determined?

The winning class will be determined by the number of points earned by its members. Points may be earned by making a donation, signing up for monthly giving, updating your contact information and more. Any new gifts or pledges made during the time period will count toward your class challenge. Payments on prior pledges do not count toward this year's competition.

How much am I expected to give?

Servite does not ask for a specific amount, although we hope you will be as generous as you can. Some classes may choose an amount that is meaningful for them, such as a donation of $30 for a 30 year reunion or $19.77 for the Class of 1977. Gifts in any amount are greatly appreciated, as gifts from alumni boost Servite’s alumni participation rate, a key metric in some school rankings and consideration for foundation grants.

What do the winning classes receive?

In addition to bragging rights, school-wide recognition, and benefiting the school that has meant so much to them, the winning class will also be recognized on a plaque at Servite and with an alumni celebration tailgate prior to a home football game in Fall 2017.

Why should I participate?

Your gifts help make a Servite education possible for students with financial need and help to preserve the programs and traditions that make Servite special. The competition is also a fun way for you to show your class pride and have some friendly competition with your brothers from other classes.

In addition, donations help Servite meet a matching gift requirement from the Windsong Trust of Las Vegas. The Windsong Trust has generously provided a $250,00 challenge grant for financial aid. In effect, donations to the alumni challenge have double the impact thanks to the Windsong Trust Grant.

How can I support my class in the competition?

There are several ways to make a gift in any amount to the competition.

  • Make a one-time gift onlinenow or send a check payable to Servite High School, ATTN: Advancement Office, 1952 W. La Palma, CA 92801.
  • Sign up for the monthly giving option when you donate online. It’s simple – divide your gift into manageable installments and sign up for monthly payments using your credit card. Your class will be credited for the full amount of your gift. You may also contact the Advancement Office to arrange monthly or quarterly installment billing.
  • Check with your HR department to see if your company matches gifts or use our online database. Your employer’s match will also be counted toward your class challenge.
  • Share the link servitehs.org/alumnichallenge with other alumni in your class through email and social media to encourage them to participate.
