HEAD COACH : Alan Clinton is begining his 5th wrestling season at Servite High School. Prior to coming to Servite, Coach Clinton spent 22 years establishing one of the finest wrestling progams in the country, with 10 Century League titles, 4 CIF Championships and 7 CIF runner-up teams to his credit. In addition to coaching, Alan Clinton is the Athletic Director. Coach Clinton is married to Leslie and has three daughters; Amanda, Alexandra and Anna.
Varsity Assistant Coach: Daniel Contreras has 7 years of coaching experience, and has wrestled for both El Modena High School and Cal State Fullerton. It is important to him that the athletes that he coaches come away from the experience believing that with hard work, anything is possible. Coach Contreras is the 2nd of five children who enjoys watching our young wrestlers develop into young adults during their high school years.
JV Coach: Chase Everwine is a new Servite wrestling coach. He wrestled at Clovis West High School for four years. His favorite restaurant is Chomp in downtown Fullerton. Coach Everwine's most exciting match was the Greco State Championship Finals Match in 2007. He hopes to impart the belief that hard work pays off to the young men he coaches.
Team II HEAD COACH: Daniel Coates is in his 5th wrestling season at Servite High School. Before coming to Servite, Mr. Coates spent 9 years at El Modena High School, 3 years at Buena Park High School and 2 years at Fullerton High School. In addition to coaching, Mr. Coates is the Freshman Academic Counselor. The most exiting match in his memory is watching Coach Contreras destroy his opponents in freestyle at State in 2001. Coach Coates is married to Trudi and has two sons, Kellin and Daniel '11.
Frosh/Soph Assistant Coach: Mike Flores is in his second year coaching at Servite High School. His favorite match as a coach was the CIF 103 pound Quarter Finals. He hopes that the athletes he coaches will leave the program with an appreciation of the greatness of the sport of wrestling. The most influential coach in his life has been Coach Daniel Coates.
Frosh/Soph Assistant Coach: Matt Basham is a new coach, with three years of experience with the Cagwa Kids program, and one year coaching at El Modena. He enjoys watching the transformation in the wrestlers from the beginning of the season to the end. He wants them to learn the mentality required to strive for more. His most influential coach has been Alan Clinton.
Frosh/Soph Assistant Coach: Marcus Johnson is a new coach who wrestled at both Diamond Bar High School and Portland State. He was a three year letterman, CIF Champion, Masters Placer and State Qualifier. His father is the most influencial coach in his life. He wants the Men of Servite to leave the program remembering the friends they made and the great times they had competing in the sport of wrestling. |
