Academic Committee
Dear Parents, Teachers, and Students, The Academics Committee, a new addition to the priory system, is kick-starting a brand new tutoring program. We are looking for students who can serve as tutors to students who are struggling academically in any subject area from Math and English to Fine Arts. Student tutors will be awarded 1.5 SERVICE HOURS for every hour they work (ex: tutoring for 2 hours = credit for 3 hours). If you are interested in tutoring, please read the Tutoring Prerequisites form and fill out the Tutoring Application attached to this page and drop it off in room 214 or email the completed form back to us at academics.committee@serviteleadership.org. We are hoping to have a full roster of available tutors by October 23, 2009. If teachers would like to recommend any possible student tutors or would like to help tutor themselves, please let us know by emailing us. We are also looking for students who are seeking help in any subject area. If you are a parent looking to get your son extra help, or a student seeking extra help in any subject, please fill out the Tutoring Referral Sheet below and return it to room 214 or email the completed form.There is also a section for teacher referrals on the Tutoring Referral Sheet as well if teachers believe a certain student needs additional help for a particular subject.** **Please note that we are developing this program simply to help students get on track with their studies. Also note that all of the members who work in the Academics Committee are held to a strict confidentiality policy and that any information disclosed to the Academics Committee will be treated with the utmost care and concern for the sender.
