Application Process 2007/2008
It is our hope that the following checklist will assist you in making your way through the Servite Admissions Process.
If at any point, however, you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at your convenience.

Contact the Admissions Office after October 1, 2007 for an application packet at either (714) 774-7575 x1170 or admissions@servitehs.org.

• Determine whether you will be applying for Early Admission or Regular Admission. Early Admission simply allows students to receive an Admissions decision as soon as their first quarter or trimester report card is available from their current school. While all applicants are encouraged to apply early, only those with the highest academic records will be admitted early.  No applicants will be denied acceptance through the Early Admission process.  If an applicant is not accepted early, they will automatically be deferred to the Regular Admission process.  All applications for Early Admission must be complete no later than November 16, 2007.  No applications will be considered for Early Admission after this date.  All applications for Regular Admission must be complete no later than February 8, 2008.

• Complete the “Student Application,” “Parent Questionnaire,” “Entrance Exam Registration Form,” and “Interview Appointment Request Form” and return them to the Admissions Office (via mail or drop-off) at least one week prior to your desired interview appointment date.  Please remember that the $50 Exam Fee must accompany the “Entrance Exam Registration Form.”

• Deliver the “Official Records Request” to the appropriate administrator at your current school.

• Deliver the corresponding “Teacher Recommendation Forms” to your current Math and English teachers.
 Please be aware that all completed Teacher Recommendation Forms are NOT to be returned to the applicant.
 All completed Teacher Recommendation Forms MUST be mailed directly to Servite from the applicant’s current school.

• Attend your Admissions Interview.  Students who do not attend an Admissions Interview will be denied admission.

• Take the Entrance Exam at Servite on January 26, 2008.  You will be provided with more details regarding the Entrance Exam once you register.

*Please note that APPLICANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE for ensuring that all records being provided by their current school or current teachers are received by the Servite High School Admissions Office on or before any due dates.

Applications are not considered COMPLETE until ALL components of the application, as outlined above, are received by the Servite High School Admissions Office.  Only COMPLETE applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee.  All applicants are responsible for ensuring that their applications are complete. Applicants with incomplete applications will NOT be notified as such.

DECISION LETTERS FOR EARLY ADMISSION WILL BE MAILED WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF THE APPLICATION BECOMING COMPLETE.

DECISION LETTERS FOR REGULAR ADMISSION WILL BE MAILED ON OR BEFORE MARCH 3, 2008.

*Please note that all applicants admitted through Early Admission are still required to take the Entrance Exam on January 26, 2008. Students who do not take the Entrance Exam will be denied admission.

DEFERRED APPLICANTS
A deferred applicant is an applicant who applied through the Early Admission process but was not granted early acceptance.
• Deferred applicants MUST update their application with their most current transcripts available by the February 8, 2008, Regular Admission deadline.  Should a student be deferred, an updated version of the “Official Records Request” will be included with the decision letter.

*Please note that deferred applicants do not need to complete a second interview.

TUITION ASSISTANCE
Please note that an applicant’s financial need has no bearing on the admission decision.  It is our goal to provide accepted applicants with their Tuition Assistance grant amount at the time of acceptance.  Tuition Assistance grants range from $500 to $4,000 and usually do not exceed one-half of the established tuition.

• Obtain and complete a Tuition Assistance packet from the Servite Business Office or apply directly on-line at www.factstuitionaid.com by February 8, 2008.   The Business Office can be reached at (714) 774-7575 x1151.

If Early Admissions applicants complete their Tuition Assistance packet by the time their early application is complete, we will do our best to provide them with their Tuition Assistance grant amount at the time of their early acceptance.  If the Tuition Assistance packet is not complete when their early application is reviewed, it can still be completed by February 8, 2008, and they will be notified of their grant amount on or before March 3, 2008.

Award amounts for regular admissions applicants will be mailed concurrent with decision letters, on or before March 3, 2008.

* Tuition Assistance decisions and award amounts will ONLY accompany Admissions decision letters if a Tuition Assistance application has been COMPLETED.  Please confirm that your Tuition Assistance application is COMPLETE before inquiring about an award amount.

ACADEMIC HONORS PROGRAM
Honors Placement for incoming freshman is determined by the Admissions Committee upon acceptance and is based on the Committee’s evaluation of the entire application as well as the Entrance Exam results.  Decisions made by the Admissions Committee are final and, once admitted, students cannot “opt into” the Honors Program.

*Students interested in testing out of Algebra 1 and into Algebra 2 for their freshman math requirement will be given the opportunity to take the Algebra 1 Challenge Exam in June, 2008. Details will be announced after acceptance.

Honors placement decisions will be announced at the time of acceptance.  Applicants who are accepted early will be mailed a notice of their placement decision on or before March 3, 2008.
