A Letter From the Alumni Director
Dear Fellow Alums:
It’s a great time to be a part of Servite High School! As a member of the Class of 1996, I am very excited to be back on campus as Director of Alumni Relations. Many things have changed in the years since I graduated, but I have witnessed first-hand that the spirit and commitment of the students, faculty, and parents that made Servite so special in my day are alive and well.
In my short time on campus, I have been able to learn about two of the biggest and most impressive changes in the school in recent years. I am referring to the implementation of the Formation Model of education and the Priory Leadership System. These are not small endeavors. The Formation Model has been established to articulate and codify all that was right in the teaching methods of legendary instructors, like Mr. Cotton, Mr. Eccleston, and Fr. Fitzpatrick. The Priory System is a groundbreaking leadership approach that incorporates every student into the process of student-led initiatives and development programs. I am certain that you would all be very proud of what the students are accomplishing through these new programs.
After graduation I went on to college and eventually law school, but Servite was never far from my mind and my heart. The lessons I learned in the classrooms and on the fields here often times carried me through my academic and professional careers. When the opportunity arose to work at Servite, it was an easy decision to return and begin giving back to the school that had given me so much. The funny thing is that while my intent was to give back, it is already clear that Servite continues to give to me. I am so inspired each and every day by the wonderful people that make up the Servite Family. Teachers and parent volunteers who have been here since before I was a student continue to dedicate themselves to the betterment of the students and each other.
On the alumni front, many positive and exciting things are happening. It is the vision of the Servite Administration and Staff to actively re-engage all of our Alumni and extended Servite family. All are invited and encouraged to come back to campus or a Servite event. There will be plenty of opportunities over the course of the year for you and your family to return to campus, have fun, reminisce with old friends, and make new ones. These include Friar Feast and Homecoming, Alumni Career Day, sporting events, fine arts events, the fashion show, and family barbeques. So be on the lookout for something that appeals to you and make the decision to come back to home. Servite is your school and we would love to have you!
