The Booster Club supports all 13 team sports on campus and promotes sportsmanship and camaraderie among our student athletes. All parents are welcomed to attend the monthly meetings. The following is a list of Parent Activities throughout the year:
New Parent Dinner and Back to School Night - Held in September, you will follow an abbreviated version of your son’s schedule. This event provides you the opportunity to meet the faculty and to get course overviews of your son’s classes. Before Back to School Night begins, you are also invited to the New Parent Dinner. The dinner gives you a chance to get acquainted with other parents and begin to feel a part of the “Servite Family.” If you would like more information or would like to get involved, please contact Maria Dzida at (714) 241-9016.
Fall Magazine Drive - This fundraiser occurs in early September and is a great opportunity to get a head start on your Christmas shopping. Your son will bring home a catalogue of magazines, CDs, and cassettes, from which he is required to sell a minimum of $150 worth of merchandise. In this fundraiser, Servite receives 40% of the sales! Remember to save your magazine renewals for this September fundraiser and ask family, friends, and neighbors to do the same! If you would like more information or would like to get involved, please contact Patty Wohler at (714) 633-1402.
Friar Feast - Various sports teams and clubs sponsor food booths, much like “A Taste of Newport” or a “A Taste of Fullerton.” Admission is free, the food and beverage prices are reasonable, the dress code is casual, and each group benefits from the proceeds it receives. Besides the different types of cuisines offered, there is also music and dancing. There are many ways you can get involved through volunteering your time to help with event set-up, decorations, etc. If you would like more information or would like to get involved, please contact the Servite Advancement Office at (714) 774-7575 x1140.
Fashion Show and Luncheon - This is the perfect “dress up” event for Servite mothers, grandmothers, and friends! Held the first week of December, the event includes a boutique, silent auction, raffle, and luncheon. There is also the fashion show itself, where faculty, parents, and students are the models. This event is the only Parents' Guild fundraiser and supports all other Parents' Guild events during the year. This is a great opportunity to meet other parents, and there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer. If you would like more information or would like to get involved, please contact Salma Bushala-Hamud, Event Chair, at salmafive@aol.com.
Servite Sweepstakes - Do you like to play the lottery? If so, then this is the perfect fundraiser for you! Held in February, the Servite Sweepstakes helps bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of education. Ticket holders are entered into a drawing with a grand prize of $10,000! Your son is required to sell a minimum of 30 tickets at $5 each. If you would like more information or would like to get involved, please contact the Servite Advancement Office at (714) 774-7575 x1140.
Mother’s Day of Reflection - Held on campus during Lent, this event provides a day for the women of Servite to take time for themselves and their spiritual lives. The day includes a guest speaker, Mass, and lunch. If you would like more information or would like to get involved, please contact Margo Lazzari at (714) 431-3284.
Mother/Son Mass and Luncheon - This is a memorable day for Servite mothers and their sons. The event is held in March and begins with Mass, followed by brunch and a guest speaker. Steve Beuerlein Open Golf Tournament - Whether you are and experienced golfer or simply a fan of Caddyshack, this is an excellent event. The annual tournament is held in May and is a day full of great golf and even better prizes! The tournament is sponsored by the Servite Booster Club and the proceeds are split between the ALS Foundation and all 13 Servite athletic teams. Grab your clubs and let’s hit the course!
