Friar Feast Flashback
We hope you were able to join us on January 19 for the Friar Feast Flashback!  The Servite Gym was packed with current parents, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of Servite.  Everyone enjoyed a groovy night of food & drink, music & dancing, the unveiling of Servite's 50th Anniversary Special Edition logos, and LOTS of fun.

In addition, we were very lucky to have Fr. Paul Novak OSM, Prior Provincial of the Servite Order (USA Province), in attendance to celebrate the start of our Anniversary and help unveil the Special Edition 50th Anniversary logos. This Anniversary is very special to the Servite Order... they are not only sharing in our celebration of 50 Years of Forming Faith-Filled Leaders, but are also celebrating their 775th Anniversary of the Servite Order. It truly is a great year to be a "Friar"!

Thank you to following groups (and their volunteers!) that hosted food and beverage stations at the event:

Aquatics, Baseball, Basketball, Booster Club, Campus Ministry, Chess Club, Cross Country, Football, Formation, French Club, Golf, JSA, Lacrosse, Library, Soccer, Speech & Debate, Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball and Wrestling.

Thank you, also,  to everyone that helped make the 2008 Friar Feast Flashback possible:
  • The Servite Booster Club, its Executive Board and Team Reps, Club Moderators and Parent Volunteers who generously volunteered their time to staff this event
  • The Servite Parents' Guild for their generous donation to help cover expenses
  • The Servite Technical Theatre Department and Mr. Scott Kahler, who designed and built all the props (including the bar!) for the event
  • The Servite Facilities Department - we couldn't set-up or break-down without your help and expertise
  • And of course... everyone in attendance! Thank you for supporting the Activities, Athletic Teams and Organizations of Servite High School and sharing your Saturday night with us!

The Friar Feast is a casual, festive event held once a year in the Servite Gymnasium. At this event, admission is free and those in attendance buy “taste” tickets to try a variety of culinary creations offered by the teams, clubs and organizations of Servite High School. Besides the different types of cuisines offered, there are also a variety of beverages, music and dancing. Much like the “Taste of” events held in Anaheim, Fullerton and Newport Beach, the food and beverage prices are reasonable, the dress code is casual, and each participating group benefits from the proceeds it receives.

MAKE SURE YOU MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR JANUARY 2009 SO THAT YOU DON'T MISS NEXT YEAR'S FRIAR FEAST!

Information about next year's theme, menu, etc. will be posted as it is confirmed.
