Thank you for taking the time to visit our corner of the web.  As Department Chair the past year has been very exciting for me. 

 

In 2006 we added two full time music teachers to address general music classes, and specifically, choir (Mrs. Leslie Kasang) and band (Mr. Michael Burrows).  We have developed a unique college-prep music specialization track for students interested in the serious study of music that offers intensive study of applied music (choir, band instrument, or classical guitar), and rounds out a student’s experience with well designed theory and history courses.

The program is not only for the serious student, but also for the complete beginner and those who, having musical experience, wish to participate in a team based activity for their own enrichment.  Beginning music students with no experience are always welcome in the beginning choir, band, and classical guitar classes.  If they will put the effort forth, we will do the rest.  From there, if they show further interest, they may pursue the higher levels of applied study.
