President's Message
Dear Parents, Alumni and Friends:
For 50 years Servite High School has used faith, tradition and a focus on excellence to form boys into young men prepared for success in college and life.
Whether academics, arts, athletics or activities, our students and programs compete at the highest levels. We actively encourage our young men to embrace multiple sports and activities. It’s not unusual for one of our young men to have high grades, be a top-performer in athletics and have a lead role in an award-winning musical.
- Our academic program sends 99.8% of our graduates to college with 93% accepted to 4 year colleges.
- Our unique Formation Program forms our young men into faith-filled leaders by integrating academics, teamwork and leadership, and spiritual development into a holistic four year program. Our Priory Leadership Program provides our students with practical and challenging peer leadership opportunities.
- Our spiritual program is central to the Servite experience and strives to develop, in each of our young men, deeper understanding of their faith, habits of prayer and liturgy that will carry them through life, and the expression of compassion through Christian service. Interest in vocations has increased significantly.
- In the arts our Tri-School Theatre program took several state championships in technical theater and MACY awards; our classical guitar programs continues to develop as one of the best in the nation; and our visual arts program won awards in several shows.
- Our athletic program competes successfully at the highest levels in the toughest division and (arguably) league in the nation.
- We are a national leader in educational technology, one of a handful of schools in the country with a 1:1 tablet pc program being integrated into the curriculum and classroom.
While our last 50 years is both accomplished and storied, our future is even more exciting. With your help, our future includes:
- Building a new athletic facility including gym, pool, baseball field and support facilities (locker rooms, weight room, etc.) to replace our obsolete facilities
- Enhancing academics by adding a new classroom wing and supporting more professional development for faculty
- Making sure Servite remains accessible to families of all economic means by increasing our endowment and financial aid
- Establishing a multi-year film and video program to provide a path to top film schools, tap into the creativity of Servite students, and complement our strong arts program
These are just some of the incredible possibilities in our future. I look forward to working with you to make these a reality for our young men and families.
In Christ,
Peter S. Bowen, ‘82 , S.O.S.M.
